Fans chant: We Want Houston as They Gather for the Astros World Series Parade

The Houston Astros won the World Series 6–2 after winning Game 6 4–1 against the Philadelphia Phillies at Minute Maid Park in Houston on Saturday night. Streets were closed in downtown Houston Monday as more than a million people were expected to turn out for the Texas teams victory parade. A video shared by Twitter user @mikaylaa_cm shows hundreds fans gathered ahead of the parade, chanting “we want Houston.” Houstons first championship, in 2017, remains marred by scandal after a sign-stealing operation was uncovered in 2019. Astros pitcher Justin Verlander got his first World Series win in Game 5, and longtime manager Dusty Baker, who once won the title as a player, has now won his first World Series as a manager.
