The Philadelphia Eagles narrowly lost Super Bowl LVII 38–35 to the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz., on Sunday.
A video shared by Twitter user @alyssakress shows Eagles fans filing past Philadelphias City Hall after the game Sunday night.
“Its so sad watching everyone walk home in this heartbroken city,” she tweeted alongside the video. “But for all the heartache, there is nothing like Philadelphia the week before a championship. Another fun ride and grateful to be here for the final game.”
Super Bowl MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes overcame an injured ankle to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to victory.
Late in the first half, Mahomes limped off the field after a tackle by Eagles linebacker T.J. Edwards that apparently aggravated a prior ankle sprain. After resting through the halftime performance by Rihanna, Mahomes came back to lead the Chiefs from behind in the second half.
The game was tied 35–35 with just a few minutes left when a defensive holding call against Eagles cornerback James Bradberry helped the Chiefs make it to a game-winning field goal by Harrison Butker.
Mahomes and the Chiefs took home the Vince Lombardi trophy for the second time in four years.
