Pistons Center Isaiah Stewart Arrested For Allegedly Punching Suns Center Drew Eubanks

Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart was arrested Wednesday for allegedly punching Phoenix Suns center Drew Eubanks at Footprint Arena hours before the teams faced off, police said.
The Phoenix Police Department said officers working security at the arena were called to the scene of a fight between the players in the parking lot at around 4:45 p.m. According to police, witnesses reported the argument escalated when Stewart, 22, punched Eubanks, 27, causing a minor injury.
Police said officers intervened to separate the players and end the fight. Stewart was arrested for assault, issued a citation and released.
“The attack on Drew Eubanks was unprovoked, and acts of violence such as this are unacceptable,” the Suns said in a statement. “We unequivocally support Drew, and will continue to work with local law enforcement and the NBA.”
The Pistons issued a statement saying they were aware of the incident.
We are in the process of gathering information about what happened and what provoked it, and responding to the NBA and local authorities,” the team said.
Stewart did not play Wednesday night, due to an ankle injury. Eubanks played in the game, which the Suns won 116–100.
Police said the investigation remains active.
