In a race between children and local sports mascots at the NCAA Men’s College World Series on Monday, a young fan was knocked down by one mascot and hurdled by another. The mascot race took place between innings of the game between the Ole Miss Rebels and Arkansas Razorbacks at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. Mascots from teams based all around the Omaha area were in attendance. A video of the race shared by Twitter user Travis Bailey shows a pack of children leading with the mascots pulling up behind. Durango, the red bull representing the University of Nebraska Omaha Mavericks, sprints to catch up. A child wearing a gray shirt and a cap veers from the inside to the center of the track, in a possible attempt to cut off the gaining bull. Durango sideswipes the young runner, who flies to the ground, right in front of the Creighton University Bluejay, who quickly jumps over the child like a hurdle. The young fan was able to get back up on his own, and after a quick check-in from an adult, runs off to finish the race.
