Seattle Mariners / Los Angeles Angels Brawl

Published

on

Six players and two managers were ejected after a fight broke out between the Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Sunday. The on-field brawl appeared to start when Angels pitcher Andrew Wantz threw a ball that struck hitter Jesse Winker in the hip in the second inning. A video posted by Twitter user Brandon Petersen shows the offending pitch. Winker can be seen taking a few steps onto the field, gesturing and apparently arguing. Within moments, both teams pour onto the field and start to fight. The mass of players appears to calm for a few moments, then the fighting erupted again, with players from both teams throwing punches. Mariners manager Scott Servais was ejected from the game, along with Winker, Julio Rodriguez and J.P. Crawford. From the Angels side, interim manager Phil Nevin was ejected along with pitchers Wantz, Raisel Iglesias and Ryan Tepera. The Angels went on to win the game 2-1.
